Appreciation

of poems

A rhyme

Good, better, best!

Never have it rest!

Till good is better,

And better, best!

A rhyme

Pick an apple,

Pick a pear,

Pick a banana over there.

Let’s work, and let’s play,

Picking apples every day!

A Limerick

People laugh and people cry

Some give up some always try

Some say hi while some say bye

Others may forget you but never I.

What is love

Love is giving ,

Love is living ,

Love is taking someone’s load,

Love helps them along the road.

Love is caring,

Love is sharing,

Love will seek the best for others,

Love treats everyone as brothers.

30 days has September,

April, June, and November.

All the rest have 31. Fine!

February 28 except when 29.

Darkling I listen; and, for many a time

I have been half in love with easeful Death,

Call’d him soft names in many a mused rhyme,

To take into the air my quiet breath;

Now more than ever seems it rich to die,

To cease upon the midnight with no pain,

While thou art pouring forth thy soul abroad

In such an ecstasy!

A Poem by Keats

The same whom in my school-boy days

I listened to; that Cry

Which made me look a thousand ways

In bush, and tree, and sky.

To seek thee did I often rove

Through woods and on the green;

And thou wert still a hope, a love;

Still longed for, never seen.

A Poem by Wordsworth

reading until he could not see;

holding his pen until his

fingers became painful; sitting

for exams ten times

until he passed; success has come

too late; he is now an important official

but his hair is already white; there is little

happiness for him; when

young ,he spent his days being

very poor; now old and often sick

money and fame are of no use to him.

Living behind the great red

gates is a young with the

taste of mother‘s milk still in his mouth;

not much to look at.with soft skin

like a girl’s and a gentle face;

he has never won a soldier‘s

uniform(军装);at twenty he got

his father’s title and money;

with the coming of spring,he is always

playing outside ,wearing soft

furs and riding upon a fine horse;

spending mornings with

gamblers(赌徒)and drinkers and

in the evenings sleeping with

the girls in a singsong house;

he spends the money paying

wine bills, using what

is left over on pretty girls;

besides drinking, singing, and

hunting with dogs or horses,

he knows little else.

on the hills, wild grasses grow

under a great pine tree;

two living things,one reaching

high and the other content

to remain low,from old times

it has been this way;

you are not alone

in knowing this sadness。

A perfect Day

When you come to the end of a perfect day,

And you sit alone with your thought,

While the bells ring out with a carol gay

For the joy that the day has brought,

Do you think what the end of a perfect day

Can mean to a tired heart,

When the sun goes down with a flaming ray,

And the dear friends have to part?

With a wish that is kind and true.

For memory has painted this perfect day,

With colours that never fade,

And we find at the end of a perfect day,

The soul of a friend we’ve made.

Well, this is the end of a perfect day,

Near the end of a journey too;

But it leaves a thought that is big and strong,

What is the topic of the poem?

Friendship

Follow me

New views, new faces

New words, new places

I need to get away,

Change the climate and the races

Everywhere is loneliness,

Hunger, hate

We gotta change our ways,

Take control—or ‘tis too late

Power to us, why can’t you see

Just follow me, and we’ll all be free

What is the topic of the poem?

The protection of

the environment

Mystery

Just now,

Out of the strange

Still night…as strange ,as still…

A dark bird flew…Why am I

Grown so cold?

What is the topic of the poem?

mystery

This poem is well-written and

the rhyme is fine and balanced

A traditional poem such as this

Can reach the hearts of many

people.

A perfect day

Written in free verse, this short

poem reminds us of the poetry

by Robert Frost we think

this poem catches a mysterious

moment that keeps you

thinking and wondering for days.

Mystery

The poem is full of energy,

and the rhythm is very catching .

Sung on the beat of rap music ,

this poetry will easily enter the

hearts of the many young

people around the world who are

concerned about the future of our planet.

Follow me

Oceans apart, day after day,

And I slowly go insane

I hear your voice on the line ,

But it doesn’t stop the pain.

If I see you next to never ,

How can I say forever?

Wherever you go, whatever you do

I will be right here waiting for you.

Whatever it takes, or how my heart breaks

I will be right here waiting for you.

Song Words by Richard Marx

I took for granted, all the times that I thought would last somehow i hear the laughter, I taste the tears but I can't get near you now oh, can't you see it baby you've got me going crazy wherever you go whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you

I wonder how we can survive this romance but in the end if I'm with you I'll take the chance oh, can't you see it baby you've got me going crazy wherever you go whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you

I'll take the chance oh, can't you see it baby you've got me going crazy wherever you go whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you whatever it takes or how my heart breaks

The way a crow

Shook down on me

The dust of snow

From a hemlock tree

Has given my heart

A change of mood

And saved some part

Of a day I had rued
