April 12th, 2015 marks the 110th anniversary of my school No. 7 High in Chengdu. I’m so glad to have witnessed this great event before I graduate from this school. About 3 years ago, like many of my classmates, I came here as the best student in my junior school. Suddenly, I found myself surrounded by outstanding people who could do better than me in almost every aspect---singing, dancing, sports, stage performance and all kinds of academic competitions. The pressure was not bearable/unbearable. For weeks, I felt so hopeless, because I was not able to be the top student anymore however hard I tried. It was my head teacher, Mr. Zhang who helped me out. He reminded me that our ultimate goal was not to defeat others, but to fulfill our own potential. Instead of feeling too much pressured, we should use the examples of others to inspire ourselves, always trying to be a better and stronger person.
