W: Sure, Harper. By the way, how many people are coming?

W: What kind of food do you plan to have?

M: So, are you going to study opera?

W: No, I can’t even sing karaoke! We’re just going to visit museums, eat lots of local food and do a lot of shopping — for designer clothes.

M: The nurse?

W: Yeah, from County Central Hospital. I ran into her at the taxi stand, and she told me that the hospital’s going to close next year.

M: Oh, that’s terrible.

W: It sure is. Anyway, after that the driver in the taxi I took was telling me about this huge accident last night on the East Coast Expressway. Then I was picking up some meat in the shop on Elm Street, and you know that guy who works there …

M: You mean Steve?

W: Yeah. Anyway, he’s just had a new baby. A boy.

M: Oh, that’s great news.

W: Yeah. And you won’t believe this last bit of news.

M: What?

W: Well, after I finished shopping, I stopped in for a coffee at the coffee shop. And I was talking to the waitress there. You’ll never guess who she served last night!

M: Who?

W: Madonna! She just stopped in for some food. Apparently she’s just bought an apartment in this neighborhood.

M: No way!

W: Hi, Polly. This is Sue. I was just ringing to check if you can still come camping at the weekend. Oh, you can, good! Friday afternoon to Monday morning. We’ll go to Newtown, which is about three miles over the border into Wales. There’s a campsite just outside the town, so we can catch a bus into Newtown and then walk to the campsite, which is on a farm. The next thing is what we will need to take. You’ve got a tent, haven’t you? So you can bring that. There’s no need to bring much food because you can eat at the farmhouse. And we’ll buy coffee and milk in the town. We want to get there in good time on Friday, so shall I meet you in the bus station at 3:45 on Friday? OK. The buses are on the hour so there should be one at 4 o’clock. We’ll be there by 5:00 then. OK, then. See you on Friday. Bye.
