Like two plus two was five, seven times three was twenty-seven, or a triangle(三角形)had thirty corners... Before this boy arrived , Math lessons had been the most boring of all. Now they were great fun. Encouraged by the new teacher , the children would listen to the pieces of nonsense (胡说)of the new kid, and they would have to correct his mistakes. They all wanted to be the first to find his mistakes and then think up the most original ways to explain them. To do this they used all kinds of things:sweets, playing cards , oranges , paper planes. It didn’t seem like any of this bothered Mario. However, little Lewis was sure that it must have made him feel sad inside. So, one day ,he decided to follow the new kid home after school; Lewis was sure he would see him crying. In a move to make the benefit system reasonable .people will also be asked what efforts they have made to find work before coming to Britain. Work and Pensions Secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, said people should not be able to take advantage of British benefits. Job centers in England , Scotland and Wales will use the stricter test . The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) said the test would ensure only migrants who have a legal right to be in Britain and plan to contribute to this country can ask for benefits. “ For the first time , migrants will be tested about what efforts they have made to find work before coming to the UK, and whether their English language skilled will be a barrier to them finding jobs” the DWP said. Mr Duncan Smith said British people are rightfully concerned that migrants should contribute to the country and should not be here for the attractiveness of the benefit system, which provided for genuine workers and job-seekers, but didn’t allow people to come and take advantages. To ask for the benefits, migrants will have to pass a habitual residence test (常居审核), including more than 100 extra questions compared to now . Migrants will be allowed to ask for benefits if they can prove they are legally allowed to be in Britain and are habitually resident in the country. As part of this they might be questioned about what measures they have taken to make themselves in Britain and what relationships they still have abroad. They will also have to provide more evidence that they are doing everything they can to find a job. According to the passage, migrants to the UK should be tested to_____. A.manage their income B.improve their English skills C.make them find work easily D.make the benefit system reasonable. In Iain Duncan Smith’s opinion, ____ A. all people living in the UK would enjoy British benefits B.people planning to contribute to the UK can get British benefits C.
