During the 1960s, my father earned a low income. My mother also worked, but money was tight as she struggled to pay the rent and the other bills. One spring, when I was 10, my father lost his job. Three Kings Day in Mexico

Among the most looked-forward-to holidays by children is Three Kings Day. This celebration takes place on January 6. On this day, children, parents and friends get together in the evening and have a cup of hot chocolate with a rosca de reyes (Three King’s Bread). This is a typical bread that has tiny pieces of fruit (orange skin, cherries, sugar) on top and tiny baby toys inside which symbolize the Baby Jesus.

Semana Santa: Easter Celebration in Spain

Semana Santa is celebrated all over Spain. Years ago, it was just a religious celebration. Woman and men wore black clothing, the man always with a black tie, and everybody was very serious. Today, however, many people who enjoy it also think about having fun.

During this week, religious images are displayed in the street. These images are made of gold and silver. Forty or fifty men carry each image on their shoulders, always at night.

A yearbook, also known as an annual, is a type of book published annually to record, highlight and commemorate(纪念) the past year of a school. In fact, all American, Australian and Canadian high schools, most colleges and many elementary and middle schools publish yearbooks.
