Smiling is one of the most expressible things done by humans. Smiling is something that makes us feel good about ourselves and others. Each time we smile, we feel a sense of humor and enjoyment. However, do you know why people smile?

One of the most common times we smile is when something is funny to us. When meeting thing that are funny or humorous, many of us laugh.

Although many times we smile when things are funny to us, other times we smile when we fine things out of the ordinary. Go to any magic show, and you may find individuals smiling at some tricks. Likewise, watch someone tell an obvious lie and you may find individuals smiling.

Another reason why we smile is that something is really exciting. People at amusement parks smile down roller coasters (过山车). Children at parks smile on swings. Whenever something is exciting for enjoyable, we smile, as a form of saying we like it or can't wait for it.

Go around and watch people smile, and you will find it is because of the above reasons. Whatever the case, those are the reasons why we smile and smiling really brings a sense of enjoyment to ourselves and others.

Why do children misbehave? Sometimes it is the parents' mistakes that get children spoiled(溺爱). At this day and age, children need you to make friends with them. They need you to teach them how to live. However, some parents don't do so. If parents don't remain consistent (—致) in disciplines (纪律), children won't know which behaviors are acceptable. If parents are in the habit of giving children what they want all the time, that is a huge mistake.

If you teach them that they won't get what they want until they behave themselves, they will learn to act the way you want them to. It is sometimes hard to say no to your children, but if you really love them, it must be done. Give instructions on how they should behave. They need to know what you mean by “behave”. If they fail to do as you instruct them, you should put their favorite toy on a shelf, give them a time-out, or don't let them join in an activity that they like.

They will fight you and challenge you at first. Don't give in. Children who are properly disciplined end up loving and respecting their parents. Saying no, explaining why and being firm could save your children's life. Remember that changes won't happen overnight. You must be patient, and keep in mind that it is your responsibility to teach your children what they need to learn to function in society.

India has many festivals, with some celebrations that last for weeks. However, none of them come even close to Holi, India's most colorful and fun festival. Celebrated on the day following the full moon, this Year's festival happens to be on March 19th.

As with most India festivals, this one also has many different folk stories. Most of them center around the success of good over evil. The most popular one is about a king, who hates his son Prahlada for loving the creator of the Universe — Lord Vishnu. When every attempt to stop him fails, his sister, Holika who is believed to be immune to (不受…影响) fire, joins in the effort by inviting the young boy to sit with her inside a huge fire. Helped by the power of Lord Wishnu, Prahlada escapes safely, while the evil Holika is burned to death. To remember this event, huge outdoor fires are lit in the nigh before Holi in order to clean the air of evil spirits and to celebrate the death of the evil.

So what's so great about this day? While there are some fun parades (游行) and folk songs and dance performances, the most fun of all is walking to the streets and splashing (泼洒) people with water guns and dry colors and even covering them with entire buckets of colored water. On this day, everything and everybody is fair game, no matter how old or how young.

At about midday, the splashing comes to an end and people living close to oceans or rivers usually take a bath in the water to clean themselves before going home to a delicious home-made big dinner and a well-deserved short sleep, following this full day of fun and activities.
