Bed趣语
有一句英国谚语（saying）这样说：“睡得早，起得早，使人健康、富裕、脑筋好（Early to bed and early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and wise.）。”这里面包含着一些道理。许多人都有早睡早起的好习惯（the habit of going to bed early and getting up early），他们早晨起来，精神饱满，精力充沛。反之，有些人喜欢熬夜（stay up late），结果，第二天醒来常常无精打采，心绪不好（set up on the wrong side of the bed），更不想整理床铺（make the bed），再遇上麻烦事，便会如坐针毡（lie on a bed of thorns）。
最后还有一句谚语请不要忘记：“You have made your bed and you must lie on it. （事情是你做的，后果必须由你承担。）”。
词语用法 速记歌

Bill’s room is very big. There are two bottles of orange and a glass of milk on the table. He’s drinking some tea. Near the table there’s a bed. His sister is reading a book. On the wall there’s a picture. In the picture we can see some boys are playing games. Some girls are singing under the tree. They’re very happy.

短文欣赏
Long, long ago there lived an old farmer in a small village. One day he lost his cow and he wanted to go to town to buy another. Among the cows on sale, he saw his own cow.
“ This cow is mine,” he said to the man standing by the cow. “ Someone stole it from me five days ago.”
“ How is that?” the man said. “It has been mine for five years!”
“ Five years?” the farmer said. “ Are you sure?” Then he quickly covered the eyes of the cow with his hands and asked, “Which eye is it blind in?”
“ The right eye,” said the man.
The old farmer took away his right hand and people saw the cow’s right eye was right and shining.
“ I made a mistake,” said the man, “I meant to say the left eye.”
“ It is not blind in either eye,” said the farmer. Then, he said to the people around, “It is clear this man is a thief.”
The people caught the thief and took him to the policemen. The old farmer got his own cow back.
