Can you _____ the car going on cold
mornings?
A.make B.cause C.lead D.get
D(get),get sth.going意为使某物开始活跃或使某物开始工作(=cause
sth.to be active,working,etc.)。
选项A中make后接名词、代词做宾语,n./adj./v.
cause sb.to do sth.
We got him talking about his war experience.
I’ll get the clock going again.
We’ll soon have you walking about again.
By the time you come back,I _____ my
homework.
A.will be finishing B.will have finished
C.had finished D.have finished
选项A中will
By this time next year we’ll have turned
all the land into rice fields.
I hope we’ll have got everything ready
before you come back tomorrow.
He never went again,_____ to apologize.
A.he also did not write B.nor he wrote
C.nor did he write D.he too did
not write
C(nor did he write),nor/neither作“也不、也没有”解,引起的分句用倒装语序,即Nor/Neither
选项A是否定句,不能用also,可说He
I don’t know,nor do I care.
I won’t do such a thing.
-Neither/Nor will I.(=I won’t do such
a thing,either.)
The first one wasn’t good and neither
was the second.
______ the little boy is clever and
loves to study. But ________ he is careless
and always makes mistakes.
A.For one thing,…for another
B.On the one hand,…on the other hand
C.One moment,…and now D.Not only… also
B(On the one hand,…on the other
the other hand。one the one hand中可省略the,on
the other hand中可省略hand。选项A中For one thing,…for
another(或also)意为“首先…… One
Not
only…(but)also意为“不但……
On one hand the price is high, but on
the other hand the quality is poor.
On the one hand you have accepted the
invitation,on the other,you’re not going
to john them.
—Can I get you a cup of tea?
—________.
A.That’s very nice of you B.With pleasure
C.You can,please D.Thank you for the
tea
A(That’s very nice of you),接受他人帮助,通常要表示感谢,用That’s
very kind(nice,good)of you.或I’d be very
glad if you could。 No,really.Thank
you all the same.或Thanks,but I can manage(it)myself.等。选项B中with
You
can,please. Thank
you for sth.
Would you like me to take your things?
I’d be very glad if you could(would).
Have a cup of coffee,please.
No,thank you just the same.
-Shall I help you carry the heavy box?
-Thanks. I can manage it myself.
