Life is a journey where many obstacles may cause us to fall and cry. But what matters is to learn from the past and find the motivation for moving on.

Never will I forget the time when I was hooked on playing volleyball. As a beginner, I always missed the ball that I should have caught. What annoyed me most was a few of my classmates’ laughing at me. Each sneer and each complaint was hitting me like a whip. But I wasn’t overcome by the unpleasant experiences. Instead, they inspired me to practice more frequently after school. The following weeks witnessed my tears and sweats. I was quite at home and my efforts finally paid off.

Looking back, I’m convinced that “a fall into a pit, a gain in your wit”. It is learning from the past rather than abandoning ourselves to it that helps us move on. (149w)

短文写作评分要求

一、评分原则：

1．本题总分为30分，按5个档次给分。

2．先根据文章内容和语言初步确定其所属的档次，然后以该档次的要求来衡量，确定或调整档次，最后给分。

3．词数少于120字的，从总分中减去2分。

4．评分时主要关注：内容齐全、词汇使用恰当、语法结构搭配合理，文章行文连贯。

5．拼写与标点符号，应视其对交际的影响程度予以考虑，但英美拼写及词汇用法均可接受。

6．如书写较差，以至于影响交际，将分数降低一个档次。

Mr. Perkins stood at the bus stop and watched the cars go by. Many of the cars were new Beta400s, and most of them were yellow. Mr. Perkins always wore the same clothes as other men, ate the same food as other people, and did the same things after work and at the end of the week. Mr. Perkins did not like to be different.

The following week, Mr. Perkins bought a new, bright yellow Beta 400. He was satisfied with it, and drove to work in it the very next day. He was even more satisfied with his new car when he saw all the other Beta 400s in front, behind, and on both sides of him. Mr. Perkins parked his car in a big parking lot near his office, and worked the rest of the day.

But when he came back at five o’clock, there were so many bright yellow Beta 400s in the car-park that he did not know which his car was. He tried his key in some of the cars, but people passing by gave him a look he didn’t like. So he stopped. Poor Mr. Perkins had to wait nearly two hours until his car was the only one left in the parking lot.
