One possible version:

As a senior 3 student, I’m making preparations for the approaching to the College Entrance Examination. Everyone around us is trying their best to help us in different ways.

At school, all the teachers work very hard, encourage us to build up our confidence and inspire us to improve our study .Whenever we meet with difficulties, they are ready to come to our help. Meanwhile, at home, our parents take good care of us and make sure we are well fed so that we can always be full of energy.

Honestly, I’m very grateful for the efforts of our parents and teachers. I am sure that with the encouragement and timely help from my teachers and parents, I’ll be able to be admitted to my dream university in the near future.

听力原文

(Text 1)

M: When will the school term begin?

W: Henry told me it was September 12, but this notice says it is September 20. Henry was wrong.

(Text 2)

M: So you are going to give us a ride to the game tonight.

W: If my car is running OK.

(Text 3)

M: Where have you been all this time? The train is about to leave.

W: I’m sorry I’m late. But I was waiting for you at the information desk upstairs. It’s lucky I thought to look for you here on the platform.

(Text 4)

W: Well, thank goodness it’s Friday. It was a long week. We should do something together this weekend. Got any plans yet?

M: How about going to the park or seeking a new film maybe?

W: Can you get tickets for a game? I haven’t been to a football game for ages.

(Text 5)

W: Have you ever heard about the new Global Positioning System for locating things?

Yes, I have. I believe they call it GPS for short.

W: Do you know how it operates?

M: Yes. It operates through the use of 24 satellites that are circling the earth.

(Text 6)

M: That’s fine. Thank you. It’s settled. We can pick up the tickets at the box office tonight.

W: Great!

M: I guess you haven’t ever been to a hockey game.

W: Yes. But I’ve read a few things about it in the papers. What time does it start, David?

M: Six o’clock sharp. But we should get there a little before that if we want to see a warm-up.

W: Warm-up?

M: The players prepare for the game by doing some skating and shooting before it starts to loose up.

W: OK! We’ll have an early dinner and meet inside the front entrance. How about 5:15?

M: That’s fine.

W: That’ll let us pick up the tickets, and find our seats to watch the warm-up.

(Text 7)

W: Hello, Michelle speaking.

M: Hello. Is that Green’s phone?

W: Yes.

M: Oh, I want to speak to Caroline.

W: She is out at the moment. Can I help you?

M: Sorry. It’s a personal call.

W: Would you like to leave a message?

M: Oh, yes. Could you please tell her I’ve got two tickets for tonight. If she’d like to come, I will pick her up at home at 6:30. She can call me back and let me know.

W: May I know your phone number?

M: Yes, 65433879.

W: OK. And who should I say called?

M: Doris Lewis.

W: All right. I’ll pass the message on.

(Text 8)

M: Excuse me for not coming to class tomorrow.

W: You missed your class last week, too. You’ve missed a lot of lessons already. I think you should work harder to catch up.

M: Yes, I will, Miss Smith.

W: Why can’t you attend my class tomorrow?

M: My grandfather is seriously ill and my family is going to visit him in the hospital tomorrow.

W: It seems to be an excuse. All right, you are excused. By the way, which hospital has your grandfather been in?

M: Which hospital? Er...he is in St. George’s Hospital.

W: St. George’s Hospital. That’s interesting. It has been closed for repairing the building for the past two months. Tony Banks, you’re trying to cut my class again. You’re coming to my class tomorrow and staying after class for extra work.

(Text 9)

M: Hello, Jane. This is Philip speaking.

W: Hi, how are you? Nice to hear your voice.

M: I remember you told me that you are interested in watching golf games. I’ve got some great news for you.

W: Really? Thank you very much. What’s it about?

M: The Houston Open will be running from April 27 to 30. I’m sure you will be glad to watch the game.

W: Oh, that’s great. But just a moment, let me check. It’s a pity that I can’t make it. I will be on business in China from April 15 to May 15.

M: Well, I’m sorry you have to be away on business then. Let me see. Yes, The US Open. It will be running from June 15 to June 18. How about that?

W: That’s great. I will be on my holiday then. It would be wonderful if we could watch the game together.

M: You are right. Let me check the programs.

(Text 10)

M: Sydney is Australia’s most exciting city. The history of Australia began here. It is the biggest city in Australia, and one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

There are over 20 fine beaches close to Sydney. Its warm summer climate and cold winter have made it a favorite city for immigrants from overseas. There are three things that made Sydney famous: its beautiful harbor, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

But there are many more interesting things in Sydney: beautiful shops and restaurants, for example, rows of interesting old houses built in the 19th century, and everywhere, the sea, summer or winter, day or night, Sydney is an outdoor city.

Some Americans think it very British. Some British visitors think it is like America. There is some truth in both these opinions, because Sydney takes from both the Old World Europe, and the New World America, and makes itself into something that is neither British nor American but truly Australian.
