Three years ago, my family got our first computer. Now, it's too old; I want to get a new one. At the beginning of the summer, my father and I talked for a long time, he finally agreed to my request.

We went to many stores, and looked at many flyers (小广告), at last we bought an HP computer.

Communication is the key to development. Communication began ever since it has been known to all the living things. Communication promoted as time went on. Over a period of time, forms of communication have changed very gradually.

Verbal communication is mainly the type of communication which uses words. Verbal communication helps in expressing ideas and feelings. A phone conversation, chat with a friend, an announcement or a speech are all verbal forms of communication. For most of us, it comes without much trouble. As children, we learned verbal communication through the sounds around us. We soon develop and start understanding the language which helps us communicate as we grow older.

Non-verbal communication is a process of communication without using words or sounds. Non-verbal communication uses gestures, body language, facial expressions, eye contact, clothing, hairstyles and every part of the body to communicate with others. Dances or a gesture made by a mother to a child are the perfect examples of non-verbal communication.

The need for communication appears due to the need to express. None of us can live without expressing our own ideas. Thus, the basic need to communicate arises so that we can express our ideas and feelings. The need for communication and the ability to communicate give us a lot of help in this world in almost any way of our life.

Different forms of communication have come into being so that we can make the process of communication simple. Communication is very important to keep the environment in a healthy and a peaceful state.

Everyone, please imagine, a big explosion breaks out as the plane takes us high in the sky. The plane is full of smoke and the engine sounds scary. Two minutes later, the engines are turned off. We are now sitting in a plane with no sound. And we can see: Life is over.

That really happened. In January 2009, I had a front-row seat on Flight 1549, the plane that crash-landed in the Hudson River in New York.

Now let me tell you the three things I learned when the silence came.

First, I thought about all the people I wanted to reach out to but didn’t. I thought about all the experiences I wanted to have but never did. I no longer wanted to put off anything in life. Second, I really regretted the time I wasted on things that did not matter. I decided to remove negative energy from my life. Third, I realized, wow, dying was not scary. But it was very sad just because I only wished I could have seen my kids grow up.

Fortunately, I was given the gift of a miracle of not dying that day. I was given another gift, with which I was to see into the future and come back and live differently.

About a month later, my wife and I were at a performance by my daughter, not much artistic talent. Yet, I’m crying. I realized that above all, the only goal in my life was to be a good father.
