M: Terrible, wasn’t it? Well, what did you think of Madame Curie? Do you think it is as good as the reviews said?

W: It’s a good film, but not as good as the book. I think some of the story was missing in the film.

M: Yes, but you couldn’t possibly fit everything that happens in a 200 page novel into a 2 hour film. There simply isn’t the time.

W: I know. But the director should at least try to follow the story. (Annoyed) With this film he left out some important people and even changed the end.

M: (Amused) Well, perhaps he thought he was improving the story, Karen.

W: Perhaps he did, but I just don’t think a film director has the right.

M: Hello! Can I speak to Susan, please?

W: Speaking. Is that you, Tom?

M: Yes, it is. I am going to New Zealand in two weeks' time, and my wife is going with me.

W: Oh, how lucky you are! How long are you going for?

M: For a couple of months, maybe half a year. My boss wants me to help set up a branch company there. Well, Susan, you have been to New Zealand several times. Can you give us some suggestions about that country?

W: I'd love to. We can have a talk sometime.

M: Why not come over to dinner at my house this weekend? My wife wants to meet you as well.

W: All right. What about Saturday?

M: OK. See you at 6: 00 pm, this coming Saturday. Goodbye!

M: Julia, I can’t believe it! I only got a B on my physics test.

W: Why are you complaining? That’s not a bad grade, I think.

M: I prepared for it for weeks. I spent several days reviewing my books. I really thought I’d done a good job. I even missed going home last Sunday.

W: Well, a B isn’t bad. I don’t see why you’re so upset.

M: David got an A. You know, he didn’t spend half as much time preparing as I did. I just don’t understand it.

W: David always gets good grades in physics. He is very good at it. Er, if you’re still not satisfied, why not ask the teacher why she just gave you a B?

M: I am afraid I am not in the mood to speak to her.

W: Maybe your grade can’t be changed. Try to find out what you’re weak in and try to improve on your next exam.

M: I suppose that is the right thing to do. Thank you very much.

W: This is exciting. I’ve never been to a circus before. I feel like I’m 16 now.

Alexander Graham Bell,the father of the electric telephone,was born in Edinburg Scotland,on March 3rd,1847.He graduated from Edinburgh University and received further education in London. He died in 1922.

When Bell was a young man, he was very ill. Indeed,his long illness was one of the chief reasons for his parents to move to Canada where he finally recovered from his illness. Bell’s father and grandfather had spent all their lives studying human speech and how to teach the deaf to speak, and he followed them. His main interest throughout his life was in helping the deaf. He was so successful that he was invited to teach at the University of Boston, where he became a professor as a result of his work in speech and hearing.

Bell began to experiment with ways in which people could talk with each other over long distances.In 1874 he succeeded in inventing the telephone.However,it was not until 1876 that the world’s first telephone was shown to the public.The first complete sentence ever spoken over the telephone was,“Mr Watson,come here.I want you.”

One possible version:

“Never put off till tomorrow what we should do today”, is a very common principle. It is aimed at impressing on us the significance of not postponing doing anything.

Take myself for example. There was a time when I always postponed finishing my homework. Consequently, I failed three examinations in a row. Fortunately, my headteacher rid me of the bad habit by urging me to finish my work on time. To my delight, due to my on-time work, I passed the last exam.

From my experience, we can see that frequently postponing our work will have bad impacts on our life and study. So we should take immediate action to do what we should do instead of putting off it till tomorrow. (123词)

完全完成了试题规定的任务。 —所有内容与提示吻合。 —应用了较丰富的语法结构和词汇。 —语法结构或词汇运用准确,虽有个别错误,但不影响意义的表达,具备较强的语言运用能力。 —恰当地使用了语句间的连接成分,全文结构紧凑。 完全达到了预期的写作目的。

第四档(好):(19~24分) 表达基本清楚,缺少个别要点,有些语法错误。

完成了试题规定的任务。 —主要内容与提示吻合。 —应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。 —语法结构或词汇方面应用基本准确,个别错误对意义的表达—影响。

--较恰当地使用了语句间的连接成分,全文结构较紧凑。 达到了预期的写作目的。

第三档(适当):(13~18分)尚能表达,缺少多个要点,语法错误较多。

基本完成了试题规定的任务。 —主要内容与提示比较吻合。 —应用的语法结构和词汇能满足任务的要求。 —有一些语法结构和词汇的错误,对意义的表达有较大影响。 —基本能使用语句间的连接成分,全文结构比较松散。 整体而言,基本达到了预期的写作目的。

第二档(较差):(7~12分)表达含糊不清,不能成篇。

未恰当完成试题规定的任务。 —主要内容与提示基本吻合。 —语法结构单调,应用词汇有限。 —有较多语法结构或词汇方面的错误,影响了意义的表达。 —语句间的连接成分运用不当,缺少连贯性。 信息未能清楚地传达给读者。

第一档(差):(1~6分)动了笔,仅罗列了一些无关内容,原因可能是未理解试题要求。

未能完成试题规定的任务。 —主要内容与提示不太吻合 —语法结构单一,应用词汇项十分有限。 —较多语法结构或词汇方面的严重错误,严重影响了意义的表达。 —缺乏语法之间的连接成分,内容不连贯。 信息未能传达给读者。
