I have got a cell phone , an e-mail account and a voice –mail system. But why am I so lonely ? A s funny thing happened on the way to the communications revolution : We stopped talking to one another.

I was walking in the park with a friend recently, and his cell phone rang , interrupting our conversation . There they were , talking and talking and I became invisible, absent from the conversation .The park was filled with people talking on their cell phones . They were passing other people without looking at them ,saying hello , noticing their babies or stopping to pet their puppies. Obviously, the electronic voice is preferable to human contact.

Why is it that the more connected we get ,the more disconnected I feel ? Every advance in communications technology limits the intimacy(亲近) of human interaction. With e-mail and instant messaging over the internet ,we can now communicate without seeing or talking to one another. With voice mail , you can conduct entire conversation without ever reaching anyone . If my mother has a question , I just leave the answer on her machine .

As almost every possible contact between human beings gets automated, people feel lonelier .Pumping gas at the station ? Why say good morning to the attendant when you can swipe(刷) your credit card at the pump and save yourself the bother of human contact ? Pretty soon you will not have the burden of making eye contact at the grocery store . Some supermarket chains are using a selfscanner(自动扫描仪) so you can check yourself out, avoiding those annoying clerks who look at you and ask how you are doing .

As for me ,I own a cell phone , a voice mail system , and an e _mail account .Giving them up is not an option ___they are great for what they are intended to do . It is their unexpected consequences that makes me cringe(退缩)。

The main cause why some children are aggressive and are “always angry with the world ”is that they have no idea how to realize that the term “problem solving” does not necessary mean solving a math problem or an assignment. When you hear experts tell you to teach your children problem_solving skill, what they mean is to teach your kids all about emotional managing and learning to cross the stormy waters of childhood ,and eventually , life .

Parents should teach their children as early as possible how to handle certain situations .
